Hello YCR, it’s actually been a while and I’m so happy to be back anyway. I’ve been off due to some reasons, and I thank you for trusting us and keeping the tab to stay by us all this while.

Therefore, today I will tell you in 9 wonderful ways that you can use to overcome this issue. You can definitely won this enemy of yours by little effort and thereby building a successful blog and achieving your life’s dream. Now, tighten your belt and let’s get started.

  What is Bounce Rate?

I think the first thing that should come to your mind has a blogger who is ready to learn is ask the same question we’ve just ask above. Well, bounce rate can be define as the percentage of visitors that enter into your blog at any source i.e. search engines, referral sites etc. and go back without clicking any link beyond the homepage.

A very good reason why you need to update your blog frequently. For instance, when you open a blog to check its latest updated posts and eventually you found that there are no new posts for you to read, then you’ll surely go back. This will definitely increase that blog bounce rate.

How can I Reduce Blog Bounce Rate?

This is a very good question we are about to ask. Most newbie blogger have every of the stages of blogging found themselves making some common mistakes that have increased their blog’s bounce rate. Now let’s take our time to look into those wonderful ways in which we can overcome these mistakes.

Write Quality Content

Content they say is the king and it’ll always remain the king. Have you thought of this question within you for once? Why have I not been writing quality contents? People come and revisit blog that provide solution to their challenges, which is why you see people subscribing for latest update.

You need to create a high quality content, those contents that I’ll cut across the test of time like the one you are reading. It’s an ever green post which will keep reoccurring in search engine. Therefore, if you are providing best written and quality content, then visitors will keep visiting your blog which eventually will reduce your bounce and increase your blog readership.

Cultivate the habit of Interlinking Your Older Posts

People have not yet figure out the advantages of interlinking your blog posts, and this is where it’s very important (bounce rate). Whenever you write a post, always make it a habit to interlink your old posts by using a proper anchor text. This provides more options to your readers to read your old posts.

Another thing is that, it will not only help to reduce your bounce rate, it will also increase your blog page views, in that visitors will be able to navigate through to other posts with those internal links.

Have noticed that Wikipedia is the best example I can give when it comes to post interlinking, and this is a very good SEO practice and one of the basic SEO you need to know. In the above example word “SEO” is linked with our SEO page. This is called as interlinking or internal linking.

Navigation is Important

Always try to use a good navigation system in your blog. This gives a good impression t your readers, as it also makes them to understand your blog better. You need to provide them with a way they can read your blog content very easily, like adding blog archive, categories, making a sitemap page and probably using a breadcrumbs page etc.

Open Links to New tab

Though I won’t advice that you make use of this point too often because it’s one of the factors that increases bounce rate. But there are possibilities that sometime you need to link to external sites to provide more related information to your reader. Then always open this kind of links to a new tab, in other not to allow your visitor to leave your home page finally.

You can do this by using target=”_blank” attribute to your hyperlinks like the below example. Anchor Text.

Make Use of Read more

I think it at best interest to cultivate the habit of using post summary in you blog post, as it keeps your readers in suspense to read more. Use more links on your homepage and label pages to drive your readers more inside of your blog, and by so doing you are beating down your blog’s bounce rate. Then you cab as well read how to add automatic read more to your blog post below.

I Recommend your read: Add automatic read more to your blog posts

Add Popular Posts Widget

Adding popular posts widget in blog side bar plays a very important role in reducing your bounce rate and load time. This actually show the trendy posts of your blog and really encourages your visitors to read those posts, as it ranks high in your blog widget.

Try and Work on Your Load Time

Nobody wants to visit a blog that take too much time to load again. I think you should be very mindful of this point because it plays a major part in how to reduce your bounce rate. When your blog loads more than 10s which is the maximum standard time for a blog to load, then you are in for it. We have blogs that load just for3-5s, those are very good time for a blog to load.
Therefore, what are the things that cause blog to load very slowly?

1. Too much widgets
2. Too much of ads on your homepage
 3. Unnecessary scripts added within your posts.

Therefore you can visit Google page test to analyze your blog.

 Get a Related Posts Widget

I was a victim of bounce rate sometimes ago, and when I did these listed points, then I never regretted again. You need to give value to your readers because by coming to your blog for information, additional information should be as well provided for them through related posts.

When a reader finishes reading article and there is no more information, then surely they will go back. To do this, you can as well show your related posts at the end of every post on your blog. Adding related post widget will not only reduce your bounce rate, but also increases your page view and blog traffic, therefore endeavor to add a related post widget today. You can check Linkwithin for a nice one.

Conclusively, I believe with the above tips we’ve done justice to increase in blog’s bounce rate? You need to know that reducing your blog bounce rate is a SEO practice. Therefore I’ll enjoin you to update your blog as often as possible, and then write a high quality contents. This will not only decrease your bounce rate, but will also increase your blog traffic. Detrimental Effects of Link Exchange

Link+exchange

There was a time when link exchange was counted as a normal way of promoting blogs and marketing. Back then it was really fun whether in blogging or as an internet marketer running many affiliated businesses. But these days, requesting for link exchange can be a suicide as so many heads want to be linked and many blogs are waiting for them to get quality links, and also it is not really advisable because of Google’s way of changing and updating rules anyhow they like.

Guess we know about the adjustment on the algorithm? A very good advice is that either you receive a link exchange request from a pro blogger or be it any blog, just be very careful because link exchange can be very detrimental to your blog’s health.

How can Links Exchange Affect your blog and Revenue

I can’t be sure of the reasons, but some corporate organizations and even some blog directories still involves in link exchange to promote their so called internet business, guess majorly affiliated marketers and all this survey stuffs. They don’t have anything to lose because they are promoting their markets, but we still have a lot of new bloggers out there who uses these blog directories to get lots of traffic.

Link+exchnage

I was able to know this all because I have been a victim of this referral links stuff. I need to tell you that it is very bad for the health of your blog. But I was trashed by Google from day traffic of 15000 to 3000. I’m begging you all, for those who still engage in this kind of act to stop, because it is going to render your blog very useless at the long run. So therefore it’s better to follow Google’s rule and keep tab on their method for your page rank and traffic.

Do you why Link Exchanges are Well Known?

Though I was told that links are links, but I would say that was in the past and not when Google have decided to take charge of their entire Google system routing. Then when links exchanges was very popular, it was actually been used in filling survey for affiliated marketing.

Effects+link+exchange

So people needs to sign up for some link exchange directories that gives out links to whoever signed and these people spread it across the social medias all because they were given between $2-$10. I could remember I did them back then, but all were scam because they eventually decided to give you your money after all the spamming with their links.

The Risks Attached to Links Exchange

I think from the little point shared above, and with all what we’ve heard in other blogs. I believe I don’t have to talk much on this again. Since we all know that link exchange can have a negative impact on a good blog we should all desist from the bad habit.

effects+of+link+exchange

So also the Google almighty is waiting for whom to wage her wrath upon because they so much dislike the effort of faithful bloggers to be shattered by link exchanges. That was why they brought the effective working ability of panda and penguin into action to deal with all those who will not follow their stipulated rules and regulations.

Finally, once in your crooked ways exchange links with a low quality or ranked sites, you will definitely be doomed in that you’ll have a low quality entity on the web. And so just imagine yourself working so hard on your blog and those you’ve exchanged links with are not really worth it because they are not producing quality contents on their blog. Then eventually you’ll be on the losing side.

  Natural Links Are incomparable

There is nothing as getting a natural links from the right source. Concentrating more on your blog’s content can really be of great help on getting the right channel to natural links you’ve always crave for.

Increase in Page views

I guess someone is already asking how interlinking increases pages views. That’s a very good question because am going to answer this question with my own experience. I’ve notice several times that if I visit a blog that has internal links, I often open those links in a new tab, because most times I found something interesting about those links which I want to read.

And automatically I stay longer in the blog trying to explore those links that seems good. Search engines take note of time spent on a web page, and I guess that is a plus for you. Any reader who stays long on your web definitely saw something intriguing, and he/she would want to come back again. And the more the visit, the more money generating for you.

  Google spider like internal Links

In case of those who doesn’t know what anchor text are, examples are go here,” “read more,” and “click here for more information.” Which we most times use to direct readers to a particle link. Interlinking of blog posts also give room for that, in other not to abuse the use of internal linking.

There is a way you do it, that makes you article to be very interesting in that it gives the reader no option than to be in suspense to get more about the particular information. They can also be used as internal links or back link.

Interlinking of your blog posts is very powerful in that it gives room for updates on the old post. There are some articles you wrote may be few months ago, and you now write a similar article this time around. You definitely have the opportunity to give a link of the old article in the new one, since you have the archive of your blog posts.

By doing this, your readers will gain from your old post, and also benefit from the existing ones too. And it’s going to be a fulfilling journey, getting all you need in a just a page. I think that’s cool.

  Make Interlinking a Habit

When you give it a trial, you’ll never regret it. I write based on my experience and practices. What I did and worked for me is what I give people, so endeavor to discipline yourself and make routine check on your posts frequently.

And just imagine when you own a food blog and most of the links that come to your site are from sport and Info Tech blog, you can see it’s annoying. And definitely the webmaster wouldn’t bother to check your site’s niche and it would just add those links to your already made links which eventually won’t add any advantage. That is the more reason why you need the right links from right blogs with similar niche to yours.

 Is your blog qualified?

This is a question that should sound so deep in many bloggers, because in other for you to get a quality links back to your blog, you need something different and which has to do with your blog articles. The more you write good article and people comment, the more the good and relevant links.

Most bloggers don’t like to give their juicy links out just anyhow, but if you prove so worth with what you offered by your article, a reasonable blog owner won’t hesitate to link back to your site because he knows his/her readers will definitely benefit from your site too; and therefore it is so paramount for them to look out for a good articles from wonderful blogs before giving out links.

Build a Good relationship

A fellow blogger once said that life on web is just exactly as life in real world .you need to make friends and build relationship with other bloggers better than you before you can gain from them.

How+to Attract+Links+to+your+Website

I remember sometimes when I had little issues with my first blog, I met a man named Joseph Efoghor. The first thing he told me was to build good relationship with those ahead of me, likewise am telling you now because this is the only way to build your reputation.

Do you think you can just approach a pro blogger requesting for link exchanges when you never had a personal encounters with the fellow. We all know it’s very annoying doing that, therefore if you’ve never start having good rapport with bloggers ahead of you, then you need to start today.

Create a post to get Links

Getting links is not by mouth or idleness; you need to take a bold step. Creating a post to get links is as simple as what you can imagine. You don’t necessarily need to be too hard in your actions requesting for link from other blogs, you can always make your link known by writing wonderful articles and putting your links in you posts.

Definitely other readers will believe you want to share a bit of your good contents and eventually when they see that your posts are very good for their own visitors, you’ll automatically get your natural links because the referring party possibly gave their readers. Therefore, it is also necessary to have links on your post which are related to the recent article you just posted (interlinking of your posts).

  Do-follow Comment Box

It’s no secret again; bloggers want something in exchange for the links they are giving you. Earlier this week, a reader commented on one of my posts and he suggested I should have a do follow comment box. The question that came to my mind was, what is really special about this do follow comment box, but when I did my research then I knew it’s worth it.

How+to+Attract+Links+to+your+Website

Because with the do follow comment box, links can easily be shared, as they also want links back from your blog if they give you theirs. So it’s trade by barter.
